Alcohol-free beer
Term from the Brauwerkstatt brewing glossary, category “Beer styles”.
Explanation
Beer with at most 0.5 % ABV counts as alcohol-free in Switzerland and Germany; some countries use a lower limit. Either the alcohol is gently removed from the finished beer, or fermentation is stopped early or special yeasts are used that produce hardly any alcohol. Good alcohol-free beers are full of aroma today.
