Czech lagers
Term from the Brauwerkstatt brewing glossary, category “Beer styles”.
Explanation
In Czechia lagers are classified by gravity and colour. “Výčepní”, draught beer, is light and easy to drink (usually 8–10 °P, SG 1.032–1.040), “ležák”, lager, is fuller (11–12 °P, SG 1.044–1.048) and includes Pilsner. By colour there are “světlé” (pale), “polotmavé” (amber) and “tmavé” (dark). They are usually served fresh from the tap with plenty of foam.
